What it does.
TrueBlur adds real motion blur to any footage — not directional, not gaussian, not faked from frame blending. An on-device AI optical flow model (RAFT, via CoreML) reads true per-pixel motion, and an occlusion-aware reconstruction kernel blurs in linear light on the GPU with Metal — so fast objects smear over the background the way a real shutter sees them, and highlights stay bright through the streak. Three controls: Blur Amount, Mode, Keep Subject Sharp. Make 1/250 footage look like it was shot at 1/48.

AI optical flow, on-device
A CoreML RAFT model reads true per-pixel motion every frame. No cloud. No queue. Flow is cached per frame, so tweaking sliders is instant.

Occlusion-aware blur
Moving subjects smear over the background like a real shutter — no hard cutout edges, no halos. Blur accumulates in linear light so bright streaks stay bright.

Blur Amount in shutter degrees (180° = filmic 1/48), Auto or Zoom mode, and Keep Subject Sharp for tracking shots. Phase, quality, and direction overrides live under Advanced.

Zoom mode for impossible shots
Google Earth-style fast zoom-ins move too fast for any flow model to track per pixel — Zoom mode measures the scene's actual zoom speed each frame and renders clean radial blur that breathes with the motion: ramps up on the push-in, vanishes when the zoom stops.

Does it slow my timeline down?+
Optical flow is computed once per frame and cached — adjusting sliders re-renders instantly. Zoom mode skips flow entirely and scrubs at full speed. Export cost is dominated by one AI flow pass per frame on the GPU.
Is the ML model running locally?+
Yes. Flow estimation runs on-device via CoreML. No frames ever leave your machine.
Does it work on text and motion graphics?+
Yes — moving titles and graphics get continuous, ghost-free streaks (use High or Ultra quality for thin strokes). One Premiere gotcha: effects apply before the clip's Motion transform, so animate position inside a nested sequence (not with the clip's own Motion keyframes) for the plugin to see the movement.
Will it replace my After Effects CC Force Motion Blur?+
TrueBlur is Premiere-native. For source footage and nested motion graphics in Premiere, it replaces round-tripping to AE entirely.
